Abstract
This paper is the final output of the project which started in the early 2000s on the collections of Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Parma. It surveys the most significant materials in the museum collections, which were assembled throughout the reign of Marie Louise of Habsburg-Lorraine (1816-1847). In the paper nine bronze objects will be described (two oenochoes, an olpe, a cista and a Corinthian helmet, together with four Roman mirrors), and will be divided into two groups, according to their chronological, cultural and, where possible, typological function. For their nature and quality, the objects illustrated here, as well as the entire archaeological-antiquarian collection of the Marie Louise Age, combine beauty and rarity within the framework of an encyclopaedic collection with primarily educational purposes. This work does not claim to be exhaustive: its aim is to publish material that is often 'forgotten' in museum storerooms, and therefore hidden from research and popular dissemination.
