The textual history of the Septuagint (LXX) of the book of Ruth is undoubtedly connected to the so-called Kaige-group. How this connection took place is, however, not clear. In this regard, scholars have sometimes given different and at time opposite explanations; other times, they have referred to one or another study on this topic, without offering any explanations and verifications. Against this background, the paper surveys at first the studies conducted on the textual history of the LXX of Ruth in order to offer a clearer overview on this topic. Then, it highlights some new evidence fur further research.
