Abstract
(en) Why are the teachings of Vatican II on ordained ministry no longer sufficient today, despite the remarkable renewal brought about in this area? Four aspects in its teachings do not sufficiently prevent the ordained minister (and the priest in particular) from being sacralized and clericalized: the terminological and conceptual hesitance; the understanding of the prophetic munus; the conception of the presbyterate in connection with the other charisms amongst the People of God; the use of the notion of presiding. The article points out certain limitations of the last general council of the Catholic Church concerning the ordained ministry and makes some proposals towards a rebalancing.
