Abstract
In brief Telomeres in ALT-positive cancers display reduced nucleosome density yet retain heterochromatin-associated factors. This study shows that telomeric heterochromatin drives telomere clustering and PML nuclear body assembly, while ATRX and DAXX suppress this process, establishing a role for telomeric chromatin in mediating ALT-associated subnuclear compartmentalization of telomeres.
