- Juvenile plantar dermatosis (JPD) is a skin disease found mainly in children between the ages of 3 and 14 years old. External factors having a role in the development of the disease include: mechanical trauma, occlusive footwear (shoes and socks), and perhaps the seasons of the year. Data on gender, seasonal patterns, and listing of atopy are presented for 80 consecutive cases of JPD.
