Abstract
The calculation of inductances usually results in a high computing time when performed via FE simulations. This paper proposes a fully analytical toolbox to calculate inductances in any winding made of axial and azimuthal wires and lying in the air. Its main contribution resides in the derivation of an analytical expression of Neumann’s integral for the inductance between two coaxial circular arcs. The analytical formulas are validated by 3D FE simulations, showing an error of less than one percent between the analytical predictions and FE results. Analytical predictions are also compared to experimental results.
