Abstract
In order to study the evolution of the representation of the common ecology to a group of university students, we start from the concept maps constructed by the students at three critical moments of ecology course: before (week 0/14), during (week 8/14) and after the course (week 14/14). We interpret the concept maps data in the light of developed Central Nucleus Theory by Abric to propose two graphical models to visualize the representation of the ecology, common to the group of students. The first model highlights the core and the periphery of this representation; the second one lets to further deepen the structure and subject matter of the core. These models are constructed from the data collected at each stage of the course (before, duringand after the course) are compared. Through this comparison we demonstrate the concepts of the ecology that lead problems or should be object of a special and deep study on the part of students.
