Abstract
Poromas are benign adnexal tumors differentiating toward the upper portion of the sweat gland apparatus. Four histological variants, namely hidroacanthoma simplex, classical poroma, poroid hidradenoma, and dermal duct tumors, are described. Although most of the poroma cases are from the eccrine type, apocrine as well as folliculo-sebaceous differentiation may be observed. Porocarcinoma constitutes the malignant counterpart of poroma and may be difficult to distinguish in current practice from squamous cell carcinoma. [...]
