Abstract
(en) [What are the possibilities of social and professional insertion for patients suffering from pain?] In this paper, we report the case of Clara, who has been followed up for 5 years at the chronic pain consultation for fibromyalgia syndrome. The evolution of her symptoms, along with their repercussions on her professional situation, provide us with the opportunity to discuss several issues pertaining to the social and professional insertion of subjects suffering from chronic pain: symptom impact on professional abilities, professional capacity assessment, effects of work on health, factors favoring work maintenance, possibilities of work adaptation, legislation and key stakeholders, as well as sociological questions linked to the difficulty encountered by people suffering from a chronic condition to maintain their work engagement
