(en) Introduction : In patients with chronic isolated aortic insufficiency (AI), surgical indications are based on presence of symptoms, severity of AI, left ventricle (LV) dysfunction or severe LV dilatation. Once deemed necessary, surgery will usually consist of valve replacement with a mechanical or a biological prosthesis.
