- Abstract
- (en) The article analyzes a passage which is the preamble of the sign of Lazarus and presents its composition. The concentric structure reveals in its centre both a question and an enigma related to the symbolism of the «path» and the «day». The elucidation of the question and the enigma at the centre, especially with the biblical context, sheds light on the apparent contradictions of the median parts of the passage, and on the teaching that Jesus gives to the sisters of Lazarus and his disciples. Rhetorical and Semitic analysis can be useful for the interpretation of a passage with high narrative dynamics.
