(en) The co-production of contemporaneous intra-urban parks contributes to the opening of the compact city. This opening is considered as a condition of habitability in a context of tensions between the metropolitan development of cities and the values of dwelling. This research hypothesis led to the empirical analysis of three development projects of urban parks in peri-central neighborhoods in regeneration. In those study cases, the spatial opening of the city appeared through the analysis of physical structures generating continuities and centralities both at large territorial scales and in interstitial spaces of the dense city. The opening of the city also appeared as a methodological criterion of the project co-production. Opportunities and stakes of the opening constitute mediation objects in the process of projects development. Nature, movement and time are three dimensions of the opening. Those dimensions revealed new connections between human beings and their environment and defined new objects of urban mediations. By developing the connection between materiality and project significance, these dimensions defined the role of an aesthetic of opening, mediator and vector of a landscape urbanism that take root in the dense city itself.
