Abstract
Ca/sub 2/[(UO/sub 2/)/sub 3/(PO/sub 4/)/sub 2 /(OH)/sub 2/](OH)/sub 2/.4H/sub 2/O (a mineral from Bergen an der Trieb, Saxony, Federal Republic of Germany), is orthorhombic, with space group /b Pbca/, /b a/=17.426 (3), /b b/=16.062 (3), /b c/=13.592 (3) A , /b Z/=8. The structure consists of [(UO/sub 2/)/sub 3/(PO/sub 4/)/sub 2/(OH/sub 2 /)]/sub n//sup 2n-/ layers connected by Ca, OH and H/sub 2/O. The U atoms have seven and eightfold coordination (bipyramidal); Ca is sevenfold coordinated (irregular).
