Abstract
Presents a method to calculate the near field and the specific absorption rate (SAR) pattern in a cylindrical dissipative medium inside which an insulated asymmetrical dipole applicator is placed with its axis in parallel to the axis of the cylinder. The predicted SAR pattern is obtained by direct numerical calculation.
