Abstract
The aim of this article is to introduce the assessment methods and procedures actually in use in neuropsychology. The authors underline the diversity of assessment objectives in contemporary clinical neuropsychology. Four main objectives of the neuropsychological examination are birefly presented : the identification and description of the cognitive disorder, the interpretation of the disorder, the evaluation of the handicap and the evaluation of treatment effects.
