Abstract
(en) Narrative study of the story of the covenant between Joshua and the Gibeonites(Jos 9) with special attention to the narrative of the cunning strategy of the latter and the reaction of the Israelites once the trick was discovered. The study focuses on the construction of narrative dynamics (essentially suspense) based mainly on the superior position of the reader, and on the function in the plot of the rhetoric deployed by the characters.
