Abstract
This lecture, held before the members of the Royal Academy of Oversees Sciences, will elaborate on the economic and political relations between ancient Iran and Iraq. The antiquity, the so-called Elam-Sealand, maritime route connected the head of the Persian Gulf with the Iranian coastline. This road was not only used as popular escape route for political refugees, but also reflected the commercial interests of the ancient kingdom Elam with neighboring Mesopotamia.
