This study investigates how entrepreneurs with physical disabilities deal, in their identity work, with the contradiction between a pervasive neoliberal discourse of the entrepreneur as an unencumbered individual and an equally pervasive discourse of disability precisely as an encumbered body. Drawing on in-depth interviews, four key discursive practices used by speakers to construct an entrepreneurial identity were identified: the archetypical entrepreneur, the unique entrepreneur, the collective entrepreneur, and the entrepreneur by default.
