The study examines the media consumption of immigrants living in Finland and compares their interpretations of Finnish media content with those of native Finns. The aim of the study is to provide information on the role of mass media in promoting integration and improving interaction between the majority population and immigrants. For the study, more than 400 immigrants living in the Tampere and Helsinki region have been interviewed by means of a survey questionnaire. The questions concern their use of television, radio, newspapers and the internet, and their access to information about Finland and their former homeland.
