Abstract
X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) has been used to characterize synthetic cesium uranates and to determine their binding energy values of core and valence electrons. The spectras were similar to those of U(VI) compounds but distinguishable by the value of the binding energy of U(4f) electrons by their satellites and by the profile of the valence-band.
