Abstract
Sartorius muscles of Rana temporaria stimulated isometrically contain the same amounts of adenyl nucleotides as those elongated by force at slow speed (0.2 cm / s, 2° C): ATP: 5.4 μmol / g; ADP: 0.62 μmol / g; AMP: not detected; IMP: traces, although they received a huge amount of negative work, equivalent to 4.10 μmole PC / g (assuming 11 kcal/mole).
