- Régis Burnet analyses the different forms – positive as well as negative that retribution takes in the Epistle to the Hebrews, including the violent formula “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Heb 10:31). However, even though the text encourages the fear that it will be impossible to repent in the future, the author of the Epistle is exhorting his listeners to remain hopeful.
