Abstract
Three practical applications of indirect adaptive control are presented: control of the temperature in a glass furnace, control of the thermal state in an underground gasification well, control of the substrate concentration in a fermentation process. Each application exhibits special design features which are described in detail and justified from an engineering point of view. In addition, experimental results on industrial-scale or pilot-scale processes are shown.
