(2024) “DENTRO e FUORI. Architettura fra mostre, eventi e archivi” — Location: Triennale Milano in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano (13.November.2024)
Event part of "Dentro e Fuori. Architecture between exhibitions, events and archives", a public programme curated by Filippo Balma, Alessandro Pasero, Miriam Pistocchi and Alessandro Rocca, within the research group "PRIN Display: the presence of the future. A archive/workshop of the intangible heritage of architecture exhibitions". Scientific committee: Alessandro Rocca, Nina Bassoli, Fabrizia Berlingieri, Stamatina Kousidi, Carles Muro, Giulia Setti. The seminar discusses the political implications of the archive, specifically the role of the archive as an instrument of cultural resistance. Within the archival space the organisation of material is inherently political and not neutral. It's the curatorship that makes a decision about who or what should be part of the archive, in what form, and who or what is excluded or, worse, forgotten. Therefore, while some archives have fostered the establishment of dominant narratives, others have taken on a character of cultural resistance, resisting the oblivion or marginalisation of certain objects and subjects. The dialogue, therefore, proposes a discussion on the political role of the archive and on the forms of cultural confrontation in architecture by it.
