Abstract
The narrow width of the recently discovered psi (3.1) and psi '(3.7) and the large branching ratio of psi ' rarr pi pi X allow the possibility of studying the two pion system at energies of 500 MeV. The following assumptions are made: a) psi and psi ' are vector particles and are isosinglet states; b) the interactions conserve parity and G-parity; c) X(3.1) comes from the psi (3.1) decay. Then the only resonant state which may mediate the interaction between the psi s and the two-pion system is the epsiv (700) resonance.
