Summary form only given. A novel experimental set-up is presented to study the magnetoresistance of single and isolated ferromagnetic cobalt nanowires fabricated by electrodeposition into nanoporous membranes. In contrast to earlier studies, this method allows a multiprobe connection and thus to study the magnetoresistive response of different segments along the wire.
