Abstract
A technique for the simulation of microwave remote-sensing payloads combining active and passive microwave sensors is presented and applied to the synthesis of measurements and the retrieval of geophysical parameters of the ocean surface and of the atmosphere. The resulting software package is a promising tool that allows the synergetic simulation and testing of new instrument combinations for future satellites.
