Abstract
This essay borrows the concept of “monument of melancholia,”coined by Victor Burgin in an essay of 2008, in order to explore the projection work Parzival as a critical engagement with Wagner and, beyond that, the way in which we commemorate events and persons in our contemporary age of mass media and globalization.
