(en) In 1937 was published a famous book, decisive for ecumenism: "Divided Christendom" of Fr. Congar. One brings to mind the historical and theological context of this book; then, one analyses its determining contribution to ecclesiology and ecumenism; finally, its limits are discussed before sketching the subsequent evolution of Fr. Congar and offering some suggestions to renew the ecumenical dynamics.
