- Abstract
- The Complaint of Khakheperreseneb is a poetic piece that recounts the speech of a heliopolitan priest named Khakheperreseneb. Immersed in a world governed by isfet (chaos, disorder), he complains to his conscience (ib) about the misfortunes that afflict the country. In the context of this study, we will be more specifically interested in a particular verse of his monologue, which addresses the issue of “loss of truth (ma'at)” within the discourse. Indeed, after lamenting the perpetuation of the critical situation in Egypt, he describes the breakdown of communication that has occurred there. This analysis will lead us to question the relationship between the ib-entity and the ma’at.
