Abstract
In this presentation, the production of Minoan architecture is explored through two levels of analysis: the construction processes that led to the creation of the Palaces, with a special focus on the scale of such buildings in regard with the rest of the Minoan architectural production; and the origins of the palatial form in Minoan Crete, in comparison with eastern structures of broadly similar functions. The Palace at Malia will serve as a case-study for both levels of investigation.
