Abstract
The nature of the feedback-correction process in a language laboratory is such that the pupils, subsequently placed in a natural conversation environment make numerous errors in pronunciation, syntax and sense, in spite of having had thorough practical exercising in the laboratory. The reasons for this phenomenon are discussed in terms of cybernetic theory.
