Abstract
Introduction : Diagnosing and managing maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) is clinically challenging. Hepatocyte nuclear factor-1β (HNF1B) diabetes (MODY-5) is infrequent MODY subtype, characterized by mutations leading to a clustered phenotype with high glycemic variability, as seen in type 1 diabetes once residual insulin secretion wanes, and to renal, gynecologic and pancreatic developmental abnormalities.
