Abstract
The main objective of this paper is to give a clearer view on the way we can reconstruct the emotional and attitudinal profile of healthy very old people when communicating in their eve-ryday environment. At the core of the study, the following question is addressed: To what ex-tent do the verbal and nonverbal modes converge in the information they convey about the authentic emotional and attitudinal states of older people in their everyday communication? Combining a psychometric measurement test with a multimodal corpus-based approach, this research proposal aims to mirror the authentic empathic profile of communicating subjects as closely as possible.
