I went to AgwA’s empty-handed and left with a heap of books. As our conversation unfolded on 7 December, Harold Fallon, Benoît Vandenbulcke and Benoît Burquel gradually loaded up my arms with their publications. These testify as much to their love of the construction site and their prolific and disparate body of work as to their research through and into practice. In truth, I hadn’t come completely empty-handed. Having already written about their work on several occasions, I had prepared, rather than questions, a list of terms that I felt captured the essence of their work. Words that reflect both the strategies and the tools that recur in their oeuvre. The result is an interview in which we move from keyword to keyword and in which the voices of the speakers, like the collective formed by AgwA, blend into one.
