Abstract
Cobalt(II) phthalocyanine was synthesized in situ within the cavities of a Y-zeolite and was characterized using different physicochemical techniques. Catalytic tests of hydrocarbon oxidation were carried out using iodosylbenzene and t-butylhydroperoxide as oxygen donors and chloroform as solvent. The formation of epoxides, ketones and alcohols was detected. It was observed that the encapsulated phthalocyanine is still active after 20 h of reaction while the free Co phthalocyanine loses its activity in a few minutes.
