- Abstract
- The background of this article is the ecosystem of players, places and processes of Brussels’ urban densification. It examines a specific aspect of this ecosystem: the temporary occupation of sites or buildings involved in ‘urban projects’. The article highlights the variety of practices that fall under this category, in terms of the spatial objects they produce as well as of the related systems of actors and social visions. It looks into how taking into account the temporal aspect can yield fresh insight into the debate in the city’s qualitative densification.
