Abstract
(en) This article investigates the name Perceval and its relation with the grail object in French romances, in Parzival and in the Welsh Peredur. By means of a comparative analysis, the author highlights the morphological similarities between the grail and the Peir Dadeni of the Welsh tradition, and argues that they may both stem from the cauldron of the Neolithic Bell Beaker culture. According to this interpretation, the author suggests a new etymology of the name Perceval.
