Abstract
The paper sheds light on the recent organisation of the Pan-African diasporas at European level into networks aiming at contributing to the modernisation of their countries of origin. Associations of people of African descent from different countries in Europe, mainly in Brussels, are recently being created and their activities may include lobbying political fora. They attempt to grow in a political supra-national environment already filled with non-state non-profit actors working with apparently the same purposes. I assume therefore that some P-ADNs are trying to rise as new lobbying/advocacy actors within the governance of EU-Africa relations under the prism of development cooperation, and that they are likely to compete with longer-term established INGDOs. Here, I start and sketch the microcosm of P-ADNs active at European level or which aim to gain a European (and African) transnational diffusion.
