Abstract
The Higgs boson (H) trilinear self-coupling, <math altimg="si2.svg"><msub><mrow><mi>λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>3</mn></mrow></msub></math>, is constrained via its measured properties and limits on the HH pair production using the proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment at <math altimg="si1.svg"><msqrt><mrow><mi>s</mi></mrow></msqrt><mo linebreak="goodbreak" linebreakstyle="after">=</mo><mn>13</mn><mspace width="0.2em"/><mtext>TeV</mtext></math>. The combination of event categories enriched in single-H and HH events is used to measure <math altimg="si3.svg"><msub><mrow><mi>κ</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>λ</mi></mrow></msub></math>, defined as the value of <math altimg="si2.svg"><msub><mrow><mi>λ</mi></mrow><mrow><mn>3</mn></mrow></msub></math> normalized to its standard model prediction, while simultaneously constraining the Higgs boson couplings to fermions and vector bosons.
