Abstract
This book is intended as a guide for the analysis and presentation of experimental results. The techniques of numerical processing of experimental data are developed, using basic statistical methods and the theory of errors. Presentation of basic theoretical concepts is followed by a description of the methods by which the results can be presented, both numerically and graphically. Examples are given and problems are solved using the Excel, Origin, Python and R software packages. Programs in all these four languages are made available to readers to use them in analyzing and presenting the results of their own experiments. The book is divided into three parts, of approximately equal length, dealing with theory, the analysis of data, and the presentation of results. Subjects are treated at a level appropriate for an undergraduate student of natural sciences, but this book should also appeal to anyone having to deal with experimental results.
