Abstract
(en) On November 26 th , 2016 the French Council of State suspended the municipal decree adopted by the mayor of Villeneuve-Loubet on August 5 th , 2016 to ban the wearing of “burkini” on the beaches in the municipality. / After a few terminological clarifications and a brief recall of the facts, this paper analyses the decision of the Council of State and proposes a parallel with the Belgian situation.
