Abstract
(en) When preparing for their teaching practice, student teachers are encouraged to be independent and responsible. Therefore, in this article, we explore how they design their lessons and what guides their choices. Twenty student teachers in their first year of training were asked to take photos of everything they do when planning their lessons. A comprehensive qualitative analysis of the chronological reconstruction of their planning process enables us to reveal an internal dynamic –we refer to it as an “impulse”– which drives their decisions. As a result, we are able to see that these impulses fall into four types.
