Abstract
In Belgium, mentally disordered offenders who have been interned on probation may be required by law to reside in Medical-Legal Psychiatric Units (UPML). On the basis of a ten-month ethnographic fieldwork inside two UPMLs in French-speaking Belgium, this talk looks to describe these units’ everyday life and how health care and paramedical teams “take care” of these particular psychiatric patients.
