Cerebral palsy (CP), a group of permanent motor disorders caused by early brain damage, is the most prevalent pediatric motor disability, affecting approximately 1 in 500 neonates. Early detection of CP, combined with a growing understanding of the neuroplastic potential in infants during the first two years of life, underscores the importance of early interventions. With earlier diagnosis, early intervention has the potential to induce motor improvements, thereby reducing long-term disability. However, evidence-based practices for infants with CP remain limited. HABIT-ILE is a therapy based on motor skill learning that has proven effective in improving motor function in children with unilateral CP aged 5 to 17 years and, more recently, in toddlers aged 1 to 5 years. Given these promising outcomes, this thesis explores further the effects of this therapy in infants aged 6 to 18 months with unilateral cerebral palsy.
