Abstract
This contribution provides a phonostylistic description of Philippe Martin’s speaking style. The sample of speech under scrutiny was recorded when Philippe Martin (PM) provided a talk at a University Conference. This speech sample is first analyzed in its main prosodic dimensions, both informally and through semi-automatic tools (Pro-soReport; ProsoDyn). It is then compared with samples from C-PROM corpus, including comparable speaking style (University Conference; same context of enuncia-tion) as well as six other speaking styles. Second, the sample is submitted to manipulation, through prosocopy, in order to give PM different French regional accents (Meridional, Bruxellois, Liégeois and Vaudois). Trans-planting prosody procedure and requirements are detailed, while the oral presentation will provide for audio output.
