Abstract
Electrophoretic studies, corroborated by polarography, chronopotentiometry and titrations have shown the existence of a bivalent oxidation state of holmium. Yields up to 5.4 per cent Ho(II) can be attained when samples of holmium oxide are submitted to gamma doses of 10 Mrad.
