Abstract
We present an experimental investigation of the Rydberg states of the MgAr⁺ molecular ion by high-resolution spectroscopy. Some low-lying states were observed by action spec- troscopy techniques based on predissociation whereas others, immune to dissociation, were investigated using a three-colour quantum-control scheme that we developped.
