Abstract
Treats the ways in which the learning process may break down, with difficulties encountered by first cycle university students in a basic physics course. The experiment, involving a model of guided discovery learning seeks to establish a new educational situation which, rather than transmitting science as already prepackaged knowledge, will lead to the assimilation of the internal logic of the field on the part of the students. It involves having the student learn a complete approach to modelling. The authors then treat the strategy for guiding the students, the technological supports of the system, and analyze the students' behaviour both from the point of view of the activities involved and the behaviour itself, especially studying the difficulties encountered.
