Abstract
(en) [Practical guideline on the use of antithrombotic agents during scheduled invasive procedures] An increasing number of patients are receiving antithrombotic therapy, such as antiplatelet or anticoagulant agents, either alone or increasingly in combination. Managing antithrombotic agents in patients undergoing invasive procedures like operations, biopsies, or punctures often proves problematic. The thrombotic risk if treatment is stopped must be balanced against the risk of bleeding if treatment is continued. In the absence of validated procedures for all possible scenarios, this short guide summarizes the strategies employed for antithrombotic use in a variety of conditions.
